The Janome Sewist 780DC is a simple to use, fully computerized sewing machine that is packed with time-saving features.

This machine has 80 stitches for many various sewing applications.  Direct stitch selection is available for 20 stitches, and the other 60 stitches are pictured on the easy access slide-out stitch charts.  When a stitch is selected, the LCD screen shows the selected stitch, recommended foot, default stitch width, and length, which you can change to suit your requirements. The Sewist 780DC also offers a choice of 3 styles of one-step buttonholes.

Special features include the automatic thread cutter, when activated trims the top and bobbin thread at the same time, pulling the top thread to the underside of the fabric.  Stitch elongation on satin stitches allows the stitch pattern to be elongated of up to 5 times the default stitch length; easy set bobbin system; auto bobbin winder system; built-in needle threader; needle up/down button; and an auto-lock stitch feature for precision locking off of stitches and patterns. The start/stop button allows you to sew without a foot control.

This is a sweet machine for your quilt retreats. Lightweight machine to carry, small in overall size, sews through several layers, great machine, quiet, accurate stitching. Love it!

At Sew4Home, we get asked all the time for machine recommendations for folks starting out or maybe stepping up from a super basic model. This is a machine we use in the S4H studios and often put in our recommendation list. It's fully computerized, which is always a plus for stitch selection, stitch selection, and one-step buttonholes. It has good needle penetration even through multiple layers. A couple of our fave features that new sewers will love are the needle up/down feature and the lock stitch button. It's just a solid, all-around good sewing buddy.

i purchased this machine to take to retreats and it has more than delivered. Accurate, easy to use light weight, Not heavy at all but sews excellent. Love this machine and so happy i have it. I have a Skyline S7 at home but this is a fantastic retreat/class machine. this is a litle workhorse. needle threader easy to operate and tons of stitches.
