This machine (Skyline 6) is wonderful. It is everything you want a sewing machine to be, quite, good tension no matter what your sewing, has a beautiful straight stitch, an incredible amount of decorative stitches and easy to use. I quilt and enjoy doing piecing and FMQ on this machine but I think a decore or garment sewer would also enjoy this machine.

I worked at an Authorized Janome Dealer and was able to test and play with many of the Janome models available. With a thorough knowledge of the products Janome offers, the Skyline S6 was the machine I chose to buy for myself. Why? Because it has a full range of features that that are included in all the higher priced models, including a 9mm stitch width, a large section of decorative stitches, the Accu Feed Flex walking foot with interchangeable base plates (I had to have the 1/4” Piecing and Stitch in the Ditch plates and purchased them as well), and the manual knee lift that raised the presser foot according to how much I pushed. Sorry Janome, but I just don’t like the fully automatic knee lifts. The touch pad is simple to use, cleaning the bobbin race is a breeze with the pop-up needle plate, and sewing on the Skyline S6 is an absolute pleasure! If you’re looking for an upper end machine without spending a fortune, I highly recommend this one.

Impressive Machine

This is my first Janome and i have to say i am impressed. i have a high end Viking and wanted an extra machine for sewing, piecing and quilting. Wow have to say i was greatly surprised. What a wonderful machine. Love the acufed system. It is truly WOW impressive to say the least. Also quiet. i am used to traditional walking feet and no comparison. This is wonderful! Also because i piece and quilt to much gave it the 1/4 inch test. Dead on. And it comes with both a straight stitch plate and a open hole/zig zag faceplate. I am sure i have a ton to learn about this machine but I LOVE the one i have. Thank you also to the dealer who took the time to explain machine differences when i went to get a new machine. So very happy i tried Janome so i could fall in love. Also happened to have a special so i will be getting the quilting package free :). Includes many feet and a clear table . The only item i wish for is the auto foot lift but the price point is too high at this time and truly this is the perfect machine for my price point. This machine has many fantastic features (thread cutter (very very quiet), auto tension to name a few) you could not get the number of features included on this machine in another brand without paying significantly more.
