Wow! What fun I’m having. I’ve owned an MC6600 for 10 years, and added have and subtracted fancier Janomes, and still mostly used my 6600. I sold my last fancy Janome, and did my homework. First I studied the 6700 and then the 6650. I decided on the 6650, and that has been one of my wisest decisions of my life, outside of marrying my hubby. It is a lovely machine. I don’t miss the Accufeed since my 6600 has it and is sitting 4 feet away!

Recently purchased the Memory Craft 6650 and haven't been disappointed yet. I'm just getting my feet wet with the free motion settings but it is very nice. I've watched many videos, put out by Janome and others who are giving their thoughts on the machine, and so far haven't needed much help in figuring out how to use it. I've made 4 quilt since I purchased because I love it so much haha. I constantly think about going and working on a project. Needle up down function is great for quilting, I also thoroughly enjoy the thread cutting option and the multiple ways to use (foot pedal, button, or lever option) makes me think this would be a good machine for many people in all walks of life. I recommend it all the time to others.

This machine does everything, I have to study the manuel because it does so many things and I want to be able to use it to the fullest extent. It does perfect beautiful stitches in every kind of form-embroidery, lettering, 9 buttonholes, sewing on lace with beading, zippers you name it. The only thing it doesn’t have as a free arm which I think I can get around will see. Otherwise this is an amazing machine.

I recently purchased the Memory Craft 6650 as an upgrade to my Memory Craft 4000. I am loving all the features it has, the weight of this machine & the speed. One of the best features is the thread cutter. No more long threads! The start/stop button on the front is very convenient and you don’t need the foot petal. I am making quilts again using this machine. It can handle all fabrics from light to heavy with zero buckling. I highly recommend this machine, it does all and more like those pricy other brands.

It is easily the smoothest machine I have ever sewn on, particularly for free-motion quilting and thread painting. It's also solid and strong for regular sewing and the large throat space, easily handles any size project. The quick-release throat plate makes change out and cleaning a breeze. I tested this and the M7 and chose this one, not just because of the lower price point.
