Using Hand-Look Quilting Stitches

Author: Nancy Fiedler

To achieve perfect results with the Hand-Look Quilting Stitches, #Q63, 64, 65, 66, 67 on the Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition, follow these simple guidelines:

  1. Use a Janome Universal Needle size 14 or 16. (do not use a red tip - the point is not right for this application) The needle must be larger than normal to make a large enough hole so that the bobbin thread can pull to the top.
  2. The bobbin thread must be very light - Janome Overlock thread #90 works perfectly. Thread weight should have no lower a number than 50.
  3. Needle thread - monofilament. We have found Sulky Invisible Thread to work very well.
  4. Use the Bobbin Holder for Free Motion Quilting and any of the hand-look quilting stitches on the machine.
