Transferring a Design to the MC11000 via USB Cable

You'll learn how to send a design from the Customizer 11000 design screen directly to your sewing machine.

What you'll learn
You'll learn how to send a design from the Customizer 11000 design screen directly to your sewing machine.

If your MC11000 is connected to your computer with a USB cable, you can send a design that is on the Customizer 11000 design screen directly to your sewing machine. You can send the design to a folder in the Built-in memory, to a folder on a compact flash card (ATA card) that is inserted into your sewing machine, or to a folder on a USB Memory Key that is inserted into the USB master port on your sewing machine.

To send a design to folder in the Built-in Memory

  1. Open or Import Floral01 design.
  2. Click MemoryCraft, Send a Design...

    OR
  3. Click the Send a Design icon.

Either way will bring up the Send a Design (On-line) dialog box.

The Send a Design (On-line) dialog box is divided into several sections.

  • The Sewing Machine memory selection shows the possible memories where a design could be sent to in your sewing machine. The Built-in memory is actually within the MC11000. However, if you insert a compact flash card (ATA card) in its adapter into the MC11000, or insert a USB Memory Key in the USB port on the MC11000, it is like adding additional drives of memory to the embroidery machine.
  • The Send Button will activate once you choose where you want to send the design.
  • The name of the design currently on the screen is shown.
  • The Name change button allows you to change the name of the design currently on the screen. If the design was just digitized on screen, it may only have a name of Untitled. You can change the name before sending to the MC11000.
  • The Folder identification will show folders in the memory you have chosen.

The sequence to send a design to the MC11000 is:

  1. Choose which memory you want to use
  2. Point to the folder in the memory you have chosen
  3. Rename the design, if desired
  4. Click the Send button

Step 1. Choose which memory you want to use.

Customizer 11000 will automatically send a request over the USB cable to the MC11000 to receive a list of folders in the Built-in memory.

This is done because communicating with the Built-in memory is the default choice for the Send a Design dialog box.

If you have a compact flash card (ATA card) or USB Memory Key in your MC11000 and you wish to choose one of those devices to receive the design on the screen, click

the device you want.

Customizer will send a request over the USB cable to the MC11000 to receive information about the folders on the device you selected. It will indicate the name of the memory you are using in the Folder: box as well as showing you the folders in its memory.

Step 2. Point to the folder in the memory you have chosen.

In the dialog box to the right, only one folder, Embf, is in the built-in memory, so it is the only one showing. If you have created additional folders in the MC11000 Built-in memory, you will see those in the Folder box also.

      Double click

on the folder where you want to send your design.

This will open the folder and make it available to receive the design.

Note:any designs already in the folder will show on the dialog box.

The Send button will activate and the arrow will turn red.

Step 3. Rename the design, if desired.

  • When we open a design, the name of the design is shown on Customizer 11000's title bar. If the name is acceptable to you, you don't need to change it.

However, when we create a design from a graphic or open a design that is named with a number, it is difficult to tell from the name what kind of design we have. We can change the name before we send it to the MC11000. To Rename a Design:
    1. Click the Name change button. A Jef Name dialog box will appear with the name highlighted.
    2. Type the new name over the highlighting and click OK. The name will change and be shown in the design name section.
