You'll learn how to receive designs from the Built-in memory of the MC11000.
What you'll learn
You'll learn how to receive designs from the Built-in memory of the MC11000, a folder on a compact flash card (ATA card) that is inserted into the sewing machine, or a folder on a USB Memory Key that is inserted into the USB master port on the sewing machine to your computer via USB cable.
If your MC11000 is connected to your computer with a USB cable, you can receive designs that are in any folder in built-in memory or storage media on your sewing machine to a folder on your computer. The computer folder that you receive to can be located on any storage media in your computer.
You can receive designs from a folder in the Built-in memory, or a folder on a compact flash card (ATA card) that is inserted into the sewing machine, or a folder on a USB Memory Key that is inserted into the USB master port on the sewing machine.
The plan for this lesson is to receive back one of the designs from the Floral Designs or Children's Designs folder that we sent to the MC11000 in Lesson 4. We will receive it and write it into the My Designs folder that was written on your hard drive when Customizer 11000 was installed.
1. Click MemoryCraft, Send Designs, Receive and Delete...
OR
Click the down arrow to the right of the Send a Design icon. Click Designs.
Either way will bring up the Send Designs, Receive and Delete (On-line) dialog box.
Customizer 11000 will automatically send a request over the USB cable to the MC11000 to receive a list of folders in the Built-in memory. This is done because communicating with the Built-in memory is the default choice for the Send Designs, Receive and Delete dialog box.
The Send Designs, Receive and Delete dialog box is divided into three sections. 1. The left side of the box shows folders and designs on your PC.
2. The right side of the box shows folders and designs on the MC11000.
3. The middle part of the box has three buttons for the action you want to do to communicate between the PC and the embroidery machine.
The sequence to receive designs from the MC11000 is:
- Choose the memory on the MC11000 where the design is written.
- Choose the folder in the memory.
- Select the designs you want to receive
- Point to the folder on your computer where you want the designs to be written.
- Click the Receive action button
Step 1. Choose the memory on the MC11000 where the design is written.
If you have compact flash card (ATA card) or USB Memory Key in your MC11000 and you wish to receive a design from its memory, click the device button. Customizer will send a request over the USB cable to the MC11000 to receive information about the folders on the device you selected. It will indicate the name of the memory you are using in the Folder: box as well as showing you the folders in its memory.
The Built-in Memory is the default.
Step 2. Choose the folder in the memory.
In Step 2, we tell the Customizer where the designs are stored. The designs we sent to the MC11000 are in folder Embf, so double click the folder to open it to see the designs.
Step 3. Select the designs you want to receive.
Click on the designs you want to receive. A check mark will be placed in the check box indicating these designs are selected.
Step 4. Point to the folder on your computer where you want the designs to be written.
To point to the folder where we want to receive the designs, we go to the PC side of the dialog box, which is on the left. The folder we want to select is called My Designs. Its path is:
C:\Program Files\Janome\Customizer 11000\ Sample Designs\My Designs
It is an empty folder that was placed on your C: drive when Customizer 11000 was installed. It is a convenient folder to store designs you create yourself.
Step 5. Click the Receive action button.
The design will be sent over the USB cable from the MC11000 to the My Designs folder on the PC.
