The high capacity of Compact Flash PC Cards (ATA PC Cards) makes them ideal for transporting designs in the *.jef format from your computer to the sewing machine.
ATA PC Card Facts
- ATA PC Cards are not a Janome product. They can be purchased at discount stores, office supply stores, computer stores, or photo supply stores.
- Once inserted into your computer, the ATA PC Card will be a designated as a drive in your computer. Depending on the configuration of your computer, the drive designation will become "E" or "F."
- ATA PC Cards are small chips; you will need a PC Card Adapter to place them into the Memory Craft 300E/9500 PC Card slot. They are available for purchase at the stores listed above.
- If your computer is a laptop, there is a slot where you can insert the ATA PC Card in its adapter into the computer.
- If your computer is a desktop, you will need a PC Card Reader/Writer connected to a USB port. They are available for purchase at the stores listed above.
NOTE: Consult the Janome Website (www.janome.com) for a list of recommended brands of ATA PC Cards that are compatible with either a laptop or PC Card Reader.
The first step to communicate with the Memory Craft 9500or Memory Craft 300E is to tell Customizer 10000 Plus which machine you use. To do that,
Open Customizer 10000 Plus.
Click MC9500 or MC300E in the Machine Selection box.
NOTE: When you click the MC9500 or MC300E radio button, the selection for EasyGigaHoop will be grayed out. This program is not available to MC9500 or MC300E users.
Click EasyImport. The design screen will appear.
Click the Open icon. It is the second icon on the Standard toolbar. If you hover your mouse over the icon, the word "Stitch" will appear, indicating that you want to open an embroidery design.
The Open/Import files dialog box will appear. Click EasyImportDesigns/Standard Hoop/ Day_Flower once to see it in the preview box. Click Open to open the design.
Your design screen should look like this:
To write the design that is on the design screen to an ATA PC Card, use the Write a Design function.
There are two ways to access the Write a Design function. Click ATA Card on the Menu toolbar, then clickWrite a Design...
OR
Click the ATA PC card icon (Write to Card) on the Standard Toolbar.
The Write a Design dialog box will appear.
Click the Write button to write the design to the card.
Once the design is written to the ATA PC Card, remove it from your PC and insert it into the sewing machine.
Write Designs, Read and Erase
To write several designs to an ATA PC Card, read designs on an ATA PC Card, or erase designs from the ATA PC Card, you use the Write Designs, Read and Erase function.
To access the function, click the down arrow next to the Send a Design icon
OR
Click ATA Card on the Menu toolbar. Click Write Designs, Read and Erase... from the drop-down menu.
The Write Designs, Read and Erase dialog box will appear. Because all three functions can be done through this box, it is a busy box.
Write Designs
If you want to write several designs to the ATA PC Card, select the designs by clicking a check mark next to the designs.
Click the Write button to write the designs selected on the left side of the box and write them to the ATA PC Card.
Read Designs
To read designs that you saved to the ATA PC Card and write them to a folder in your PC, click a check marknext to the designs you choose.
Click the Read button to read the designs selected on the right side of the box and write them to the folder selected on the left side of the box.
Erase Designs
To erase designs from the ATA PC Card, click a check mark next to the designs you wish to delete.
Click the Delete button (the Trash Can) to delete selected designs.
Open the Design in the Memory Craft 300E
To open the design in the sewing machine, insert the ATA PC Card into the Memory Craft. Touch the Card key to read the designs.
The design will open and show on the Ready to Sew screen.
Open the Design in the Memory Craft 9500 To open the design in the sewing machine, insert the ATA PC Card into the Memory Craft. Press the Embroidery Mode key to place the machine into Embroidery Mode.
Then, press the Open Folder mode key.
The design will open and show on the Ready to Sew screen.
