Stippling

Part 1 - Stippling Basics

1. Click New icon.

2. Click on the down arrow for Hoop Selection and select the SQ (200 x 200).

3. Click Parallel Weave fill icon. Draw a radom shape on the screen using both left and right clicks. Press Enter to create the object. Press Esc to end the function.

4. Click to select the object. Click Stipple icon from the Edit Toolbar. The Stipple details will appear. In this instance leave all the settings at their default. Click OK.

5. Now, if you want, you can go back and play with some of the other settings. You can't just right click and change the Object Details as it is now a Run Line. What you will need to do is use the Undo icon until you get back to the solid weave fill pattern.

6. Click Save icon. Locate your Digitizer Lessons folder. Save the file as "Stippling". Click Save.

Part 2 - Stippling Around an Existing Design

1. Click New icon.

2. Select Embroidery from the Menu. Insert Design C:\EmbroideryAlbum\Puppy.JAN. Click Open.
3. Click Parallel Weave Fill Rectangle icon. Click and drag a box from the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the hoop. Press Esc to end the function.

4. Make sure that you have turnedoff the Visualizer so that you are in 2D mode. Zoom in around the puppy design.

5. Ensure that the weave is selected (it should be highlighted in magenta). Click Cut icon. Now using right and left clicks trace the satin outline of the puppy. Press Enter once to join the outline. Press Enter again to create the cut.

6. Ensure that the weve fill is selected. Click Stipple icon. Change the Loop Spacing to 5.0mm. Click OK.

7. Click Save icon. Locate your Digitizer Lessons folder. Save the file as "Framed Stippling". Click Save.
