In this lesson we will set up a design using *.jef files.
EasyGigaHoop opens *.arg (arrangement) files and imports *.jef files.
Click the Import icon.
The Import Design dialog box will display. We will be choosing Giga Hoop designs that are supplied with the program, which are in \Program Files\Janome\Customizer 10000\EasyGiga Hoop Designs.
Click once on GigaFloral03 to see it in the preview box. Notice that information about the design is shown to you in the boxes on the right of the dialog box.
Click OK.
The design will come into the left side of the screen. It needs to be moved to the right side of the screen.
Click on the design. Your cursor will become a double arrow. Drag the design to the right.
When you lift your finger off the mouse button, the design will be placed where you moved it. If you place the design so it crosses the overlap lines, the design will be grayed out and you will get a message box telling you to move the design left or right.
Remember, the design must reside either on the left side or the right side, as indicated in the previous lesson.
Click on the design. Move it to the right side.
Click the Import icon.
Click Giga Floral04. Click OK.
You can leave the design as it is presently, or you can adjust it so it is more centered in the layout box. Just remember, you can't go over the center overlap lines.
Note that when any design is placed on the design screen, a black box is placed around it. Clicking on the center of the black box will allow you to drag the design into your desired position.
There are circles at the four corners of the black box. Sliding your mouse cursor over any one of the corner circles will change your mouse cursor into a double arrow. You can then click and drag, inward to make the box and the design smaller, or outward to make the box and the design larger. Remember, however, you are not changing the stitch count of the design. You are only making the stitches closer together or further apart.
