Cornering and Centering Design

A. Create a new screen with four sheets of paper.
To demonstrate cornering, we will create a new screen with four sheets of paper.

1. Click the New icon.

Click File, New

Either way will create a new screen with one sheet of paper.
Note: You may get an alert asking if you wish to save your layout if you were working on one.

2. Click Edit, Number of Sheets for Layout...

3. The Number of Sheets for Layout dialog box will appear.

4. Click the up arrow in the Horizontal box to the number 2.

5. Click the up arrow in the Vertical box to number 2.

6. Click OK.

7. The layout screen will increase to four sheets.

8. We can't see the right side or the bottom of the layout without using the slide on the screen. There is a command that will allow us to see the entire screen without sliding.

9. Click View, Overview

10. The screen will change to show the entire layout. Notice that the four sheets of paper make a layout with four quadrants.

B. Cornering

The cornering function will duplicate any selected design on the screen into three other quadrants.

1. To import a design, we can either click the Import icon

click File, Import Design.

Either way will bring up the Open/Import Files dialog box.

2. The designs we want are in the Border & Corner folder. The path is C:\Program Files\Janome\Customizer 10000 Plus\MCnnnn\EasyEdit Designs\Border & Corner.

 

3. The first design we want is Border6.

4. Click once on it to see it in the preview window. 

5. Click the Open button to bring it to the design screen.

6. The design will come into the center of the screen.

7. Right click on the upper right node to change to rotation mode.

8. Rotate the design so it is approximately 45 degrees.

9. Move the design into the upper right quadrant.

10. To corner the design, click Edit, Auto Layout, Corner.

11. The design will be duplicated in the three other quadrants.

12. Click the Import icon to bring up the Open dialog box.

13. Import the Corner6 design.

14. The design will come into the center of the screen. Move it to the upper left quadrant and into the corner.

15. To corner the design, click Edit, Auto Layout, Corner.

16. The design will be duplicated in the three other quadrants

By copying and pasting designs, selecting, and then cornering them, you can create lovely layouts. And of course, by combining them, you lessen the number of hoopings needed to sew the layout.

C. Centering
Any selected design can be centered in a layout, even those that have been created through the combine feature.

1. Click the New icon.

Click File, New

Either way will create a new screen with one sheet of paper.
Note: You may get an alert asking if you wish to save your layout if you were working on one.

2. Import design Corner1 to the design screen.

3. Click the Copy icon.

4. Click the Paste icon. The copied design will be pasted directly over the original.

5. Click on and drag the copied design to the right.

6. Click the Flip Horizontal icon to flip the copied design along its vertical axis.

7. Position the copied design next to the original design.

8. Click the Combine icon to combine the designs. Click Yes to the Combine confirm.

9. Click on the combined designs to select them and put a black box around them.

10. Click Edit, Auto Layout, Center.
Image

11. The designs will be positioned in the center of the design screen. 
Image

12. Combining cornering and centering gives you the ability to be your most creative with embroidery designs.
