Introduction to Paper Piecing With the Sew Fun Block

“I’m Janome Maker Adam Rateliff aka Adam Sew Fun.  I found a love of paper piecing early on in my quilting life and decided to share that love with all of you.  I call paper piecing “Quilt by Numbers,” because you just have to add the next piece and stitch on the line.  If you are organized, you will never lose your spot.  If you are not organized, congratulations, you quilt like me.  I’m calling this block my Sew Fun Block because there are so many different ways it can be put together.  It’s 5 pieces, 4 seams, and goes together in a flash.  You will need to download the block pattern and print it out 4 times.  I have also included templates to help you out with the cutting.  This block will finish at 5.5 inches square, so the final piece will make an 11×11 finished block.
When using the templates to cut your shapes, you can cut strips to make it even easier. The strip sizes are below with the piece letter label and color I used.
Template Piece A (Blue A3) and Template Piece D (Blue A4) – 4.25 x WOF
Template Piece B (Orange A2) – 1.75 x WOF
Template Piece C (Yellow A1) – 2.5 x WOF
Template Piece E (Red A5) – 2.75 x WOF
I really hope you enjoy this process and it opens up a whole new area of quilting for you.  I can’t wait to see what you all make so please post photos of your projects and tag me @Adamsewfun
