Hey sewing friends! If you’re feeling super festive (but low on time) for Halloween this DIY is perfect for you.
I made this using my Janome Horizon machine!
Here’s what you need:
- 10 minutes
- 2 1-yard pieces of fabric (try to get similar colors for contrast)
- Trim or appliqués
Step 1: pre wash your fabric
Step 2: cut 1 piece 19×17 and another 19×11. (Do this for both pieces of fabric for contrasting)
Step 3: complete a French seam. Wrong sides together, stitch 1/4 inch to the edge. Press the fabric right sides together and stitch 3/8 inch from the edge. Press the seams down and baste the sides.
Step 4: press your edges in by 1/4 inch and fold it again, encasing the raw edges. Edgestitch at your machine.
Step 5 (optional): Adding appliqués or trim. You may add trim to the seam or the bottom hem. Or a single appliqué like the bow. I used my button hole stitch to secure the bow to the towel.
All done! Happy Fall, y’all!
