Upcycled Denim Quilt

Don’t throw out those worn denim pants! Give them a second life as an upcycled quilt. Using fabric straps and your Janome serger, create a unique and sturdy quilt that will come in handy during picnic season!

Janome Supplies Required

  •  Any Janome Serger
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Rotary Cutter/Ruler/Mat
  • Seam sealant or large eyed needle

Fabric and Notions Required

  • Lots of old blue jeans (goodwill stores are great for this)
  • Yardage of denim fabrics to supplement if you didn’t have enough jeans. (I purchased 2 yards of 3 different shades of blue)
  • 8 – 1 yard sections of assorted cotton prints (food/bugs are great for this)
  • 4 cones serger thread
