This simple little purse is just the right size for any occasion. It can take on a whole new look by changing the selected fabric or handle. Or, instead of beads try fringe or fur along the top. You can make a new handbag to accessorize with every ensemble in your closet.
Janome Supplies Required
- Any Janome machine
- 1/4" Seam foot O
- Zipper foot E
- Satin Stitch foot F
- Blue Tip needle 75/11
Fabric and Notions Required:
- 1/4 yd. corduroy
- 1/4 yd. lining fabric
- 1/2 yd. home dec beads
- 20" heavy cord for strap
- 1" hook and loop tape
- All purpose thread
- Hand sewing needle
Instructions 
- Set up the sewing machine for ordinary sewing.
- Attach the 1/4" Seam foot O.
- Select Straight stitch #1.
- Using the pattern piece provided, cut two from the corduroy and two from the lining fabric.
- Sew the two corduroy pieces on the sides and at the bottom, right sides together. Do not sew across the top.
- Repeat for the lining pieces, except for a 3" section at the bottom for turning.
- Press lining. Turn right side out.
- Pin beads along the raw edge of the lining on the right side. If needed overlap about 1/2".
- Attach the Zipper foot E.
- Adjust the stitch width to 0.0.
- Stitch bead tape to lining.
- Place the lining inside the corduroy, right sides together.
- Stitch around the top.
- Turn right side out through the 3" opening at the bottom of the lining section.
- Reposition zipper foot.
- Adjust stitch width to 6.0.
- Topstitch around the top of the purse. Press, if needed.
- Sew the 3" opening closed.
- Attach the Satin Stitch foot F.
- Carefully attach hook and loop strips to inside of purse. Be sure beads are away from the needle and the foot.
- Hand-stitch the cord to the purse for a strap.
