Dixie Chicks Quilt for Valor

The Dixie Chicks of Boise, Idaho just completed seven quilts as part of the "Quilts of Valor" nationwide project which will be presented to seven Idaho servicemen. Members of the group donated all of the fabric, batting, and backing to make these quilts and as you can see from the picture they are all very proud of their efforts and hope they will be of comfort to the brave soldiers who have fought for our freedom. All the beautiful long arm quilting was done by quilt artist, Shiree (Bobee) McCaughey.
The Dixie Chicks would like to give special thanks to their dealer in town - Boise Sewing and Vacuum and the owner, Scott Meatte. "Scott does a great job of supporting and servicing machines for Janome buyers. I wouldn't buy a sewing machine anywhere else," said group member Dixie Johnson, who sews on her own Memory Craft 11000, which she lovingly calls "Jewel" Janome Johnson.
