I am in the market for a second machine. I have the 6600P which I really like. I find I need a free arm from time to time and I also miss some of the decorative stitches I had with my 9000 ( I traded it up for the 6600 about 18 months ago).

I have found both the 4400 and 4800qc for $699 brand new in the box online. I did call my dealer who advised me they would have the same motor, etc as the MC4000, which I had years ago, but sold because I was buying a combo machine.

I have never bought online, only through my dealer, whom I get excellent customer support. However, they do not have these machines since they are older models and my budget won't allow the cost for the MC5200.

I would like to know if anyone has either of these machines and what you like and dislike about them. I really liked my 4000, which sewed through anything because of the extra needle penetration power. This is why I am looking at these two models.

I will hopefully be making my purchase within the next 2 weeks.

Thanks!
Diana

Hi Everyone,

I've been using the same machine for 35 yrs, (a nice old Riccar) and my daughters have convinced me it's time to get a new one. I'm completely lost with all the new technology, so any feedback is much appreciated! There isn't a good fabric/craft store nearby, so I'll probably order a machine online. I need something for garmet construction, and I"d like to get more into quilting and crafts. My budget is limited, so I don't want to go over $400-ish.

Thank you!
sdh

Which models can make eyelet stitching?

I'm looking for a machine that can reinforce fabric holes with a round eyelet stitch. The hole will be about 1/4" in diameter. A brass eyelet is to be added to the hole after stitching.

Can anyone please suggest Janome models that are capable of doing this. So far a search of the site did not specifically mention this capability.

Also, since the company where I'm employed in Southern California is really only looking for a service to add this feature to one of their products, I need to locate a subcontractor that can use the appropriate Janome machine. If Janone can provide a referral to a subcontractor, please provide a contact where the details can be discussed.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi,

I now have more time on my hands, and decided I'd like to get back into sewing after 25 years, and possibly machine quilting. Am currently considering a Janome 6260QC, which I understand is a discontinued model. The machine is new (not previously used), available through a local dealer, and still carries the warrantee. It would be my only machine, and I would be taking it back & forth to classes. The price is $589.00.

Does anyone have any feeling one way or the other if this is a good choice. I'm a little skeptical buying a discontinued model, but I suppose all the current models will be discontinued one day or another. Does anyone have any insight into how the 6260QC rated against the lower priced / higher priced Janomes?

Thanks for any feedback. I really need to sort out my brain!!
