8900 skipped stitches
I have used the Janome needle and Smetz needles. My thread, Aurofil, skips stitches constantly. I have had my machine cleaned and checked for burrs, etc. None were found. Why does it keep skipping stitches. VERY frustrating.

With your machine you got a package of needles - try the purple tip. That needle could be a Pink or a purple in colour. Janome started out with pink calling it purple, but I noticed that now the packages have purple needles. Someone in Japan got colour confused, I think. That needle is the "go to" if you have issues with skipped stitches in your sewing.

That needle helps a lot. How do I purchase more of them? Thank you

I get mine from my dealer. However, if there isn't a dealer close to you, there should be a dealer that would ship to you. I live in Canada so I don't know what you might have available in the USA if that is where you are. Go on "Find a Dealer" at the top of this page or the home page for Janome.com and you'll be able to find one close.

Sears sells Q needles which are the equivalent of the purple tipped needles.
