Squeaky Machine
I have a 9 year old QC 6260 that suddenly developed a squeak when sewing. Before that it was really quiet. I do not have the money to take to dealer for service without knowing what it might be and what will need to be done. Since this machine is factory lubricated and sealed, except for a place in the bobbin case, I have no idea what I am looking for. Thanks for any ideas. It sews okay except for the squeak, and, no problems show up in the led readout from the computer.

  1. RE: Squeaky Machine

If you've had your machine for 9 years and it hasn't been into your dealer's for a service cleaning, I'd say that it is long overdue. The squeak could be anything, but if you love the machine, try to do a couple of things. Take some dental floss, unwaxed, and run it through the thread path both upper and the bobbin case. That will help to take any debris or such out if there is anything there. Put a drop of oil on the wick below the bobbin. Then try sewing again. If the squeak doesn't go away, if I were you, I'd take it in to have it fixed.
