    Product Code: 200329004
Ultra Glide Foot - Category B/C
''The ultra glide foot is molded from a special resin allowing easier sewing of fabrics that may otherwise stick to the standard metal foot i.e. ultra suede, vinyl, faux leather, plastic etc.''

The above is the version for your machine, which is a high shank 7mm feed. The new ultra glide foot and needle plate is for 9 mm category D machines. I went looking today for the foot and was surprised to find the only option for my 9mm cat D machine was the new version at 3 times the cost of the foot for a cat B/C foot I was not impressed.

Just a thought. Would it be possible to use a generic non-stick (ultra glide) foot with an adapter?

Hi Jacquie, that is exactly what I intend to do, I have a high shank 7mm ankle for other feet I have, there's no way I'm going to pay £60 for an ultra glide needle plate and foot when all I need is the £20 one. I'm making up faux lambskin with bonded lambs fur, and the metal feet would chew up the leather effect. I have already spent £138 on the fabric, so don't want to spend much more if I can help it. Avery small amount of silicon polish on a needle plate allows easy movement of fabric. I get so fed up of the constant price hikes for machines, accessories, software, so much so I'm looking at the latest Tajima 8 needle machine for domestic users. The Tajima Sai, I'm hopefully getting one next week for a couple of days to test drive, if it works as well as my 15 needle machine and the price is right, I'll purchase one and loan my 9900 to my daughter in law. I don't see me buying another Janome machine for a long time.

Have you ever used a roller foot (looks like a tiny lawn roller with bumps)?? I think they are made for sweater knits etc.

Jacquie, I think the roller foot isn't made for the new machines, as they have come up with the AcuFlex Foot and it is superior to the roller foot. Feet were discussed at the Janome Event I was at here last week and that was what the Educator replied to a question that was asked. It may still be around for the 7mm machines but never was made for the 9mm which our 12000, 15000, and a few others as well.
