  1. MC6600 Foot pedal

Anyone ever had a problem with the foot pedal not working on the MC6600?
It works then quits, will work for a while again, then quits.

It is possible that the foot pedal needs cleaning, replacing the foot pedal is an easy fix.

I have had the same problem. I wonder if it's just some glitch in that foot, cause mine has been replaced once already, and occasionally it will still happen.

Mine was doing this on the MC11000. Then I would "borrow" my daughter's foot pedal from her Janome DC2010. Mine was working slowly then fading out until nothing! I am nervous now that hers does not work in my machine either? I just took it to the sewing store, and a new pedal does not work in my machine! WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS...I am afraid it might be an expensive fix???? Thank you!

I have a Memory Craft 6500 and my foot pedal works slow and then it doesn't work at all. I took it apart and cleaned what little lint was inside and it still runs slow and stops some time.

It could be that there is a connection inside your sewing machine or the cord that is broken. I think you need to take the machine in for service. There are some where the sewing machine continues to sew when no one is pressing the foot control - these are related problems and it probably occurs because the cord was perhaps pulled out incorrectly at some time in the machine's life. However, it could be as simple as just dirt in the foot control. These machines are now much older and dust and dirt does accumulate where we sometimes least expect it. I don't suggest you taking it apart yourself - your machine might also need a service check and this would be a good time to do it all. After Christmas of course if it doesn't drive you crazy to wait that long.
