Jenise's Miracle Baby

My niece, Jenise, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29.  During routine blood tests prior to her scheduled mastectomy, results showed she had just become pregnant.  This news was bittersweet, as she and her husband, a Marine, were waiting to start a family after he completed his military service.   Following her mastectomy and consultations with specialists, Jenise began a special type of chemotherapy for pregnant women.  The strength and determination displayed by the most beautiful, bald pregnant woman I ever saw inspired me to make a special christening gown for her miracle baby. Brinley was born perfectly healthy and mother and daughter continue to be a beautiful example of courage.
