Transferring Several Designs to the MC11000 via USB Cable

You'll learn how to send several designs from your computer to your MC11000.

What you'll learn
You'll learn how to send several designs from your computer to your MC11000.

If your MC11000 is connected to your computer with a USB cable, you can send several designs that are on any storage media in your computer at one time to the sewing machine. The designs can be on a floppy disk, a CD-Rom, a USB Memory Stick, a compact flash (ATA card), or on your hard drive. As long as the storage media is recognized by your computer, Customizer 11000 can find the designs stored on it.

You can send them to a folder in the Built-in memory, or a folder on a compact flash card (ATA card) that is inserted into the sewing machine, or a folder on a USB Memory Key that is inserted into the USB master port on the sewing machine.

The plan for this lesson is to send all the designs from the Floral Designs folder and three designs from the Children's Designs folder to the MC11000. The Floral Designs and Children's Designs folders were placed on your C: drive when Customizer 11000 was installed on your computer.

Click MemoryCraft, Send Designs, Receive and Delete...

OR

Click the down arrow to the right of the Send a Design icon. Click Designs.

Either way will bring up the Send Designs, Receive and Delete (On-line) dialog box.

Customizer 11000 will automatically send a request over the USB cable to the MC11000 to receive a list of folders in the Built-in memory. This is done because communicating with the Built-in memory is the default choice for the Send Designs, Receive and Delete dialog box.

The Send Designs, Receive and Delete dialog box is divided into three sections:

1. The left side of the box shows folders and designs on your PC.
2. The right side of the box shows folders and designs on the MC11000.
3. The middle part of the box has three buttons for the action you want to do to communicate between your PC and the embroidery machine.

The sequence to send a design to the MC11000 is:

  1. Choose which memory you want to use.
  2. Point to the folder where you want the designs to be sent.
  3. Select the designs that are on your PC that you want to transfer to the embroidery machine.
  4. Click the Write action button.

Step 1. Choose which memory you want to use.

If you have a compact flash card (ATA card) or USB Memory Stick in your MC11000 and you wish to choose one of these devices to receive the designs, click the desired device button. Customizer will send a request over the USB cable to the MC11000 to receive information about the folders on the device you selected. It will indicate the name of the memory you are using in the Folder: box as well as showing you the folders in its memory.

The Built-in Memory is the default.

Step 2. Point to the folder where you want the designs to be sent.
Double click on the folder where you want your designs to be sent. This will open the folder in the chosen memory and it will also activate the Send button in the middle of the screen.

Step 3. Tell Customizer 11000 where the designs are stored.

We'll first get the designs from the Floral Designs folder. To select them, we must change the location in the PC: box on the left side of the dialog box.

Click the down arrow in the PC box to get a map of your computer. Click drive C: then double click succeeding folders.

This is the path to get to the designs:

C: on your computer's C: drive (or hard drive), is the
1. Program Files folder Open this, and find a folder called:
2. Janome Open this, and find a folder called:
3. Customizer 11000 Open this, and find a folder called:
4. Sample Designs Open this, and find a folder called:
5. Designs Open this, and find a folder called:
6. Flowers These are the designs we want.

Once the Floral Designs folder is showing on the PC side of the screen, double click on it to see the designs in the folder.

There are 12 designs in the folder. To select all of them, we can either

click a check mark in the lower right corner of each design box,

OR

right click on any design to bring up the submenu, then click Check all to select all of the designs.

If you use the submenu, you will get a confirmation box telling you that you are choosing all the designs in the folder. If this is acceptable, click OK to proceed with the selection.

To send three designs from the Children's Designs folder:

Step 1. Select the memory.
We do not have to repeat step 1 because Built-in Memory is currently selected.

Step 2. Point to the folder where you want the designs sent.
Since we already have the Embf folder in the Built-in memory open, we don't have to take further action.

Step 3. Select the designs you want to send.
To point to the Children's Design folder, we need to go up the pathway. Rather than getting a map of the C: drive again, which we could get by clicking the down arrow in the PC box, we can click the Up icon to point back to the folders in the 1.Designs folder.

Double-click
on Children's Designs to open the folder.

The Send button will activate again.

Click in the little square in the lower right corner to select the first three designs, Airplane 1, Airplane 2,andFish 1. Each click will set a check-mark on the design.
