There are two different ways to send designs to an ATA PC Card. One way involves having the ATA PC Card in your computer, and the other way involves having the ATA PC Card in the Memory Craft 10000.

ATA PC Card in Your Computer

When the ATA PC Card is in the computer, we use the ATA PC Card menu on the Menu Toolbar.

Click on ATA Card.

Click on the 2nd entry, Write Designs, Read and Erase...

This will bring up the Write Designs, Read and Erase dialog box.

And, just as its name implies, we can do many things in this dialog box, but in this lesson we will concentrate on writing to the ATA PC Card.

Find the folder that contains the designs you wish to write by clicking on the down arrow in the "Look In" box.

Click on the design you wish to write to the ATA PC Card. The design will show in the preview window.

When you are satisfied that this is the design you wish to write, click on the "Write" button. The design will be written to the ATA PC Card.

Determine the Folder

Before you write the design, you need to determine to which folder you want the design to write.

The default folder is PC_Link. What this means to you is that the Memory Craft 10000 must be in PC-Link Mode to open designs on the ATA PC card when inserted into the MC10000.

If the "Select Open/Save folder" box is unchecked, the design will go to the PC_Link folder. In the PC Link Mode, designs saved to the ATA PC Card will be viewed as a thumbnail image on the Visual Touch Display Screen.

If, instead, you wish the design to write to the Emb_File folder, click a check mark in the "Select Open/Save folder" box. What this means to you is that the Memory Craft 10000 must be in Embroidery Mode to open designs on the ATA PC Card when inserted into the MC10000. In the Embroidery Mode, designs saved to the ATA PC Card must be retrieved by file name using the Open File Mode Key.
