Just in time to brighten your spirits for the holidays, enjoy this free angel download created by Janome Maker Milinda Stephenson using Digitizer and sew it out on the Horizon Memory Craft 15000.

For a quick and easy gift for those who have everything, create a name-embroidered angel for every family member.

Instructions

Step 1:

Hoop your angel fabric with a tear-away backing. Milinda used polar fleece for the angel. Sew color 1 - outline.

Step 2:

Change the thread color and sew color 2 - wings.

Step 3:

Choose a fabric for the dress. Milinda used a polar fleece. Sew color 3 - dress outline.

Step 4:

Lay the polar fleece atop the dress outline and sew color 4 - dress sew down.

Step 5:

Sew colors 5 -9.

Color 5 - face

Color 6 - hair

Color 7 - eyes

Color 8 - smile

Color 9 - halo

Step 6:

Cut a piece of ribbon for hanging the ornament. Tape down the ribbon on the inside of the ornament. Sew color 10 - line for the ribbon.

Step 7:

Cut two pieces of backing fabric to create an envelope-pillow style backing. Lay the backing fabric face down on the angel. Sew color 11 - sew down for backing. Turn the ornament right side out through the envelope backing.

I like the concept, but the directions are "sloppy." Nowhere in the supply list does it mention the felt or the batting (how much?). Also, I would never use a high loft batting in a placemat, or a table runner, as I think that it would be too unstable for a glass. The next time I make these, I will cut out the batting (I use flannel) and spray baste it to the wrong side of the Dresden plate before I put the Dresden plate on the felt to cut out. I have not yet washed the finished placemat, and am hoping that the single layer of felt does not curl up, or become distorted after washing/drying.

I made this today but your cutting directions need to be changed. You only need 4 of color 1 and color 3 4.5 squares for the triangles. Also the inner border, you only need 2 cuts as WOF is long enough to cut each in half to fit the sides.
