Shannon Miller
US Gymnast and Gold-Medal Olympian Shannon Miller is an ovarian cancer survivor. Aggressive chemo-therapy and surgery took her hair, but a beautiful wig didn't keep her from working as a commentator at the London Summer Olympics in 2012. Shannon mentioned how a wig can change your outlook on life and make your feel more like yourself.
Shannon is now an advocate for ovarian cancer screening and adds a spark to Rio's Pink Ribbon Association. The organization uses Janome machines to sew gorgeous wigs to give away to cancer patients.
Shannon has been cancer-free for five years now and is continuing to help and mentor other women battling the horrible disease.
