This foot can be used by itself, or with the new stabilizer plate. Either way it makes buttonholes easy.
With all the other advanced features on the machine, you've probably guessed that the Horizon Memory Craft 12000 is likely to have a pretty good buttonhole foot.
It does. It's called Automatic Buttonhole Foot R and working in conjunction with the MC12000, it gives you all kinds of adjustments to make your buttonholes come out perfectly.
An accessory that comes with the foot is called the Buttonhole Stabilizer Plate. This plate is designed to give the buttonhole foot extra stability when you're sewing on bulkier fabrics, or when your buttonhole crosses a seam. And it's easy to use.
How To Set Up Buttonhole Foot R With The Stabilizer Plate
- Set your button in the holder back of the foot, and adjust the holder so the button fits snugly. The foot can handle buttons up to one inch across.
Note: If you want to slightly adjust the length of your buttonhole, you can do that by turning the adjusting screw on the side of the foot.
- Attach the buttonhole foot to the machine.
- Lower the buttonhole sensor on your machine.
- On your touchscreen, choose a buttonhole. You have the option of making several fine adjustments: length of the hole, the overall width, or the stitch density. When you're finished with your adjustments, press OK.
- Now insert your project between the foot and the stabilizer plate.
- Sew your buttonhole.
