This plate supports and holds fabric for extra stability when sewing buttonholes and bartacks on uneven thicknesses of hard-to-feed fabrics such as wool or knits. The Buttonhole Stabilizer Plate is compatible with all Janome sewing machines that use an Automatic Buttonhole Foot R. These feet are hollow on the underside. To use the stabilizer plate, you just slide the automatic buttonhole foot into the plate holder and make some minor adjustments to the plate. Fabric is placed between the buttonhole foot and the plate for extra stability and smoother feeding. The plate also contains markings to help align the edge of the fabric and to ensure correct placement.
