The Perfect Quilt Block to Make with Your BFF

"Piecing is my favorite quilting technique and my Janome Horizon Memory Craft 15000 has a very precise 1/4" seam allowance. When I sew with my MC15000, my seams are accurate and my blocks are truly precision pieced. The accuracy is so amazing; I don't even need to use pins to hold my fabric pieces in place when I stitch. If you're ready to learn an easy construction method for a traditional-style block with a modern twist, let me introduce you to one of my favorite quilt blocks and my all-time favorite Janome presser foot. I love it so much, I've told my friends at Janome that they should call this presser foot, Kimberly's Favorite Foot!" - Janome Artisan Kimberly Einmo

Kimberly provided us with a helpful step-by-step tutorial to create this colorful quilt block. It is the perfect project to make with a special friend on a beautiful summer afternoon.

    The Perfect Father's Day Project

Elna Artisan Jennifer Davey of Be Still My Crafting Heart made a fun upcycle project using the Artistic Edge Digital Cutter and the Elna eXcellence 760 PRO machine. For a Father's Day project, Jennifer re-purposed "dads" old shirts to reveal the superman inside. This project is great to honor dad or it can be the perfect finishing touch on a superhero bedroom.

Jennifer's awesome project was featured on ThermoWeb's blog. Click here for her helpful instructions.

Winner of a 9-Piece Scissor Kit

Last month, we hosted the Janome Baby Clothes contest where anyone could submit a photo of baby clothes, blankets or nursery decorations made with a Janome sewing machine. Out of 519 entries, Janet M. of Massachusetts was chosen as the winner. Her prize was a Janome 9-Piece Scissor Kit that she picked up at Able Sewing Machine & Vacuum Center in Raynham, MA.

"I have been sewing for 60 years and have sewn everything including everyday garments, wedding gowns, men's suits, custom window decorations and crafts. Currently, I am focusing on my grandson's wardrobe which he outgrows daily.

I am a true Janome girl and have been sewing on their machines since the 7000 came out. The joy of embroidering a truck or cute raccoon onto a toddler's shirt or sleeper is beyond rewarding. I love to sew on my Janome machines!" - Janet

Featured to the right is an adorable photograph of Janet's grandson in the outfit she made for the Janome Baby Clothes contest.

    Congratulations and great job Janet!
