Janome was the brand for Christopher Thompson of The Tattooed Quilter from the moment he discovered the modern quilting movement. Christopher’s first sewing machine was the DC2012. It was the perfect introduction machine. Christopher’s quilting skills have advanced over the years and he has made some pretty awesome projects! When we asked Christopher to test drive the new Horizon Memory Craft 9400 machine, he was super excited to give it go!

In his review, Christopher mentions that MC9400 works like a dream. The AcuFeed™ feature is gold and the additional bright LED lighting is super helpful. In addition, it is great working on a machine with extra room.

For Halloween, Christopher made an awesome Boo Cave quilt with the MC9400. Click here to read his full review and follow along his project tutorial.

    Enjoy!

Janome Artisan Milinda Stephenson of Milinda Sews was excited to share the very first Skyline S9 review with Janome and our readers. Two weeks ago, Milinda shared beautiful embroidered kitchen towels that achieved a hand embroidered look from the Skyline S9. Today, Milinda was excited to share her full review as well as the other wonderful projects she made with this powerful new machine.

Milinda explains in her review that the Skyline S9 is the perfect machine for millennials. It combines the features of a Janome top-of-the-line machine with easy-to-use functions. Her first test on the Skyline S9 was the embroidery functions. Milinda was excited to try out the built-in Anna Maria Horner designs that stitched beautifully!

In addition, Milinda loved how easy it was to switch from embroidery to sewing and vice versa. She also really likes how solid the S9 is. The bed does not move while you are working like it does on some of the cheaper models so the stitches were perfectly straight.

Milinda made an adorable simple john for her grandson. She added a monogram to it and turned out awesome!

Click here to read Milinda’s full review and check out the projects she made with the Skyline S9 along with a quilt she is currently making for her daughter’s best friend’s first baby.

    Quilt-As-You-Go by Susan Emory

Susan Emory of Swirly Girls Designs was stoked when Janome asked her to review the new Horizon Memory Craft 9400 sewing and quilting machine. Susan has been using the MC9400 for a variety of different projects over the past few months and she loves all of its great features!

Some of Susan’s favorite features are the Dual Feed Foot AD (the walking foot) and the retractable High Light™. She mentions in her review that this is the best walking foot she has ever sewn with as it is easy to attach to the machine and is quiet, steady and smooth. In addition, Susan found the lighting on the machine to be extremely helpful during some of her late night sewing sessions. The best part of the lighting is that it doesn’t get hot and make the sewing area uncomfortable.

As the holidays are shortly upon us, Susan made a wonderful quilt-as-you-go table runner using the walking foot for the entire project from piecing, to quilting, to binding.
