Fiber Art with Fabric Scraps and Chain Stitch

“One of my favorite things to do with scraps is to use them for fabric art. I save all of my smallest sewing scraps and the run-off from serging and creating collages which are secured in place with stitching. I had an idea to use the chain stitch function on the Janome CoverPro 2000CPX for the stitching and I am thrilled with the results of my latest piece.” – Janome Artisan Ajaire Parello of Call Ajaire

Ajaire made a beautiful kite for her cousin’s most recent event where they auctioned off pieces of art to raise money for a mural in a local school.

    Perfect for Fall Projects

“Although cool weather is just a promise here in Florida, the pumpkins are still ripe and the holiday season is upon us. My daughter loves decorating her new house with seasonal towels and pillows so I digitized this pumpkin applique as part of her Halloween decorations. I plan to also use it on overalls for my grandson and a t-shirt for my niece. I used the Artistic Edge Digital Cutter for my applique design and sewed it out on the Janome Skyline S9 using my favorite hooping feature – magnets. I hope you all enjoy it!” – Janome Artisan Milinda Stephenson of Milinda Sews

Click here to follow along Milinda’s easy step-by-step instructions. This pumpkin applique is perfect for last minute Halloween projects.
