Laminates Love The Janome Ultraglide Foot
Leave a comment about a "sticky situation" your Janome has saved your from, and you could win!
Cotton laminates are one of the most popular new substates coming from fabric manufacturers these days. They are much easier to work with than the old-school oil cloths, but they still require some special handling. Number 1) stay away from pins; use clips or temporary adhesives to hold pieces together prior to seaming. Number 2) a regular presser foot will stitck to laminates; use the Janome Ultraglide foot.
We're guessing successful-sewing-with-laminates is just one of the "sticky situations" in which your trusty Jaome has saved the day! Leave us a comment below telling us about your favorite Janome-to-the-rescue moment. We'll draw a winner from all the comments collected between now and August 31, 2012. The winner will receive a Janome Ultraglide foot plus two generous cuts of beautiful cotton laminate from Tula Pink's soon to be released collection for FreeSprit Fabrics: The Birds & The Bees.
Our friends at Sew4Home.com, where Janome America is a sponsor, recently finished a series with FreeSpirit and sent us these two lovely fabric cuts to give away. The laminate is 55" wide, and our winner will recieve 1¼ yards of Meteor Shower in Cinnamon and 1½ yards of Tree of Life in Cinnamon.
You can visit Sew4Home for a great tutorial on working with laminates as well as fun ideas for laminate projects, such as as a vanity tabletop cover. But first, leave a comment below about your "sticky situation" for your chance to win.

He brought it over I fixed it right up - Disaster averted, meltdown alleviated, Made her Daddy a HERO once again. :-)
This bag used 92 pieces of stabilizers, vin yl, fabric, zipper, etc!
The 7700, with the AcuFeed foot (which goes over laminates beautifully, I may add!) went from 5 layers over a bump with another 16 layers with no problem! In the heaviest spot of the bottom seams, there was vinyl covering side, bottom, and piping pieces, loads of stabilizer and ... oh yeah.. the fabric itself - a whopping **30** layers of fabric! This was done with the zipper foot to guide that super-thick seam along the piping.
Janome to the rescue... it's made sewing a joyful experience - even when it was thrown a very challenging project!

PS... I love having the right footsie for the job!
My kids and grand kids, and family members, think I can make "anything" with my machines. They are not far from telling the truth.
My Janomes are out and always ready for use, because I never know when I or someone will need that last minute project, ( they always do ) and I have the confidence that my Janome machines are up for the tasks.
From mending the "impossible" when it's their favorite pair of jeans, to helping them to do 4-H sewing projects, making themselves their own quilts, embroidering a design at last minute for a gift or just letting them be creative. And with the ease of sewing with my Janome 12000, I have them "spoiled" to sewing with a great machine.
I hope I have passed on the desire for them to love sewing, and Janome machines as much as I do.
