Sewn With Love: Claire Webster's Personalized Pillowcases
This project was a wonderful combination of her love for sewing and her love for your neice.
Claire Webster lives and sews across the pond in Chesterfield, England. She says that she recently got the sewing machine of her dreams, the Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition. And it gave her the chance to make a very special project for her eight year old niece Natalie.
Claire says, "I have the MC11000, which I had been saving for for years. It was well worth every penny, I love it."
Her eight year old niece Natalie often visits her grandparents (Claire's parents) and has her own room when she stays over. They decided to redecorate the room since she had grown out of the Disney Princess theme and add another bed so she could have a friend stay over as well. Natalie chose to have a black and white theme and new bunk beds.
Clair says she started by using her MC11000 to make black curtains--and then got carried away! Soon she was making tie backs, personalised towels, pillow cases and finally a matching cushion.
"It did take a long time, but to see her face when she walked into her new room was worth every minute. The embroidery designs were downloaded and I used some of the decorative stitches on the machine for the edges and Lettering. I love my niece and I love my sewing machine, putting the two together was definitely a project sewn with love."
We couldn't have said it any better.
