Video: Install A Zipper With The Zipper Foot E
Yes, YOU can put in a lap zipper.
Many sewists are intimidated by the thought of installing a hidden or lap zipper. For starters, the zipper's teeth will not fit under a standard presser foot. Then there's the challenge of sewing the zipper in so it looks straight. And finally you have get the lap to lay flat over the zipper.
Don't worry. It's not as hard as you think.
All Janome sewing machines come with a zipper foot, which allows you to sew a lap zipper into your project with ease. The Zipper Foot E can be snapped onto your machine so it sews on either side of the needle. That way the needle can get close enough to stitch but the zipper teeth don't go under the foot.
To install a lap zipper you simply sew a series of straight stitches, folding the zipper or the fabric back at each step. Once you see it done, it's not that complicated.
